Hammer Bench

A preschool toy by Learning Curve Toys for ages 18 months and up.

Standard hammer bench toys had a common function: hitting a peg would move it to the underside of the bench. A child would rotate the bench to start the process over again. I created a new hammer bench with a surprise play pattern. A hidden mechanism would cause a nail to pop-up when a child would drive another nail down. This action encouraged a child’s determination to keep trying after another nail popped up as a delightful surprise. This toy was produced in wood for a classic look and a more pleasant sound when the hammer contacted a peg.
